tried out the new tent and hit a few snags.
Probably should have set it up before we went camping,
but no time for that. This is an unconventional tent
and definitly requires 2 persons to set up.
After a little cussing and straining the tent was up
and funktioning great. 2nd time setup was really easy
since now we knew how to do it.
Summary : the family loved the tent and it is really
well made.

We bought this tent for a family trip to a music festival. My husband is 6'4" and an all around big guy. This tent had plenty of room for him, me, our son, two fullsized air mattresses with bags, table, chairs, etc. One of those mattresses was a raised aerobed, so I'd say that this tent would sleep five or six people very very comfortably without having to climb over each other.
It absolutely poured rain while we we there. We sealed the seams before we used the tent, but we didn't do any other waterproofing. The fly worked perfectly, and the tent stayed very dry inside, except for a little bit right inside the front door. The tent is a bit oddly shaped here. You can either have the front part of the floor staked as per the directions, or you can have the zippers close tightly. It wasn't a huge amount of water, even with the zippers open a bit.
We had extra people in our tent during the rain, because they fit, and their kids were boisterous with no damage to the tent, no leaking, and no tent caving in or falling down. Very sturdy and very comfortable!
When the skies cleared the next day, the tent cooled easily with the vents open.
I gave it four stars instead of five because the instructions could have been more clear and because of the thing with the front door not zipping all the way, but my personal satisfaction with the tent couldn't be higher. It's super easy to set up, and relatively easy to take down and store (once you figure out how to fold it - which is not the same way it came out of the package, but first into a square bordered by the main stake holders).
We have not been frequent campers since my son was born. I do not like carrying a bunch of stuff into the woods, and both my husband and my son are city kids who don't appreciate really roughing it. This tent offers a perfect compromise of comfort and ease that will get us out of town a lot more often.
