Hands down, Delorme makes the best maps. If you ever visit Maine, go to their store and see "Eartha" (Worlds largest revolving globe). If you are camping or just looking to explore you state a little better this is the map for you. Way better than any GPS. Keep it in your car all the time and get a window stick on compass instead! Delorme thank you for such a great product!! Buy the way, the Maine version is a staple in about every home in that state. I grew up with them and live by them.

"The DeLorme South Dakota Atlas and Gazetteer" is an excellent resource for trip planning. South Dakota is a deceptively large state with a lot of wide open spaces and its own rugged terrain. This atlas should allow the average traveler to navigate to pretty much any place on the road network, and to gain a limited appreciation for the terrain along the way. The scale of the map is quite good for such a large state; the numbered and multicolored map sheets are detailed to one inch equals 3.2 miles. The map sheets also include latitude/longitude markings for GPS grids.





In addition to a locational gazetteer, this DeLorme Atlas provides general information on recreational opportunities. The listings include federal and state parks, game management areas for hunting; and locations suitable for fishing, hiking, or bicycling. The map scale is not detailed enough to support off-road movement; those travelers planning to do off-road route finding are advised to consult more specialized products.





The DeLorme South Dakota Atlas and Gazetteer is very highly recommended for planning and navigating for business or pleasure in South Dakota.

This light has a very powerful magnet which makes it stick to the tent and stay in place. I had to have my husband put it on becuase my arthritic hands could not seperate the magnets. The light is not really bright enough for it to be as useful as it could be, but it still serves its purpose. It worked great for a nightlight for my younger daughter who does not like the dark when camping and it did not bother my older daughter who likes to have complete dark to get asleep. I'll start by saying we are family campers - not hardcore backwoods campers. We camp with a 6 year old and 2 year old and this light is perfect for us. It clips up very easily and gives of plenty of light to get everyone changed into their pajamas, settled in their sleeping bags, and bedtime stories read. I like that I can clip it anywhere so I can put it just out of reach of the kids but in a place that I can reach from the sleeping bag. It has a strong magnet so I don't worry about it falling and breaking (or hitting someone on the head). We've used it on many different camping trips and it has worked well each time. I couldn't be happier with this light.

This light is nice because you can position it pretty much anywhere but it's only bright enough to navigate a dark tent and not step on someone. This is not a reading light or even a light to play cards by. And b/c it's battery operated it's not a good night light. Maybe great in a tiny 1 person tent where you could have it inches from your face/reading material but not in a family size tent.

This set is of good quality. These stakes are the only type we can use for more than a season. They do not bend or get lost in the sand. The top of the stake does come lose so you have to make sure it is pulled to the top before you put it in the ground. The rubber mallet is good quality and fairly heavy. The stake puller worked out really well especially in the sand. The broom and dust pan was really too small to do much good but was handy for spot cleaning. I still have to have my regular size broom to sweep out the tent before folding it. I was kind of disappointed with the quality of the broom and dust pan. They were just not as hearty as I have come to expect from Coleman. I would not say this set is a must have for camping, but it does come in handy.

I'm sure that this is a handy kit to have. The tent stakes are much sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. For me, they also arrived pre-rusted -- a significant amount of rust covering most of the metal surfaces on all 4 stakes.





For what I paid for the item plus 2-day shipping, I'd prefer to rust my own stakes. These are going back.

I bought this kit for my husband after our first camping trip and my husband 1) forgot to bring a mallet and broom and dustpan and 2) the stakes that came with our tent all bent the first time we tried to hammer them in.





It's nice to get it all in one little sack so we don't forget anything. I have since decided a large broom and battery operated hand vac suits my taste better than a little broom and dustpan, but those are still handy to have around.





The stakes in this kit are sturdier than the ones that came with our tent (i.e., they don't bend easily). The mallet works and we have no problem with it.





The stake puller works, but only if the stakes aren't stuck in the ground. The last time we used it, the stakes wouldn't come out and we were afraid plastic heads on the stakes would come off with the stake puller. It would be nice if either the stake heads weren't made of plastic or the stake puller would grip stake body so we could get a grip on the stake and pull.





Other than the problem with removing the stakes, I have no complaints.

As those praising this product have noted, it has many many uses. But don't think you're going climbing with this. It's parachute cord, not rope. It's great for tying stuff down, suspending a shelter or a backpack. It's very light weight and easily stowed. But it is not rope in the heavier duty sense. You cannot get a grip on it for any of the purposes you might imagine rope being used for.

This is just General Purpose rope and it is made in China. It is OK rope suitable for tent lines, lashing, hanging food up in tree, tying people up, etc. It is not Para Cord like someone said, that being said it could be Chinese Para Cord which could explain why they hit the ground with a thud. If you want General Purpose rope just go to one of the DIY stores and put the money for shipping with your rope money and buy a better rope. The rope is about 3/16th's of a inch thick. It is Olive Drab in color and does not have individual cords inside. It is just General Purpose rope.

I have used several different types of seam-sealers for my tents (I have three) and this is by far the best. While I think it's a little expensive it IS worth it long-term. You definately need to let it dry for 24 hours. It outlasts the others by years and seals far better. I highly recommend this for tents and camping gear!

I first used this gooey stuff after my tent was wind-blasted by small branches, tearing a 3 inch rip in the no-see-um netting. A couple patches from an air mattress covered the mesh, but the adhesive tube for them was far too small to do the trick, plus it was dried up. Enter seam-grip.

After returning to home, I set out to find a repair goo for the tent and a mountain drive to Eastern Mtn. Sports, now fairly ubiquitous, produced the fix. It's been 14 years since the mini-tornado incident and the patches are still holding. So are all the repairs I've made to the backpacking air mattresses, gloves, holes in jackets, repairs in gore-tex tape, and re-rubbering the cracked rubber handles on my ice axes.

Not to mention any repair that absolutely requires adhesion and flexibility.



Don't buy the big tube unless you have all the items laid out for repair: all your jackets, tent seams, etc. The stuff will set in the tube once opened, and each time you remove the cap you'll have to excavate some of the dried stuff to get at the runny mix. In the end, you'll have to surgically extract the last remaining goop from the edge of the container or by unrolling the crimp without getting the sappy stuff all over your hands.

Takes about 6 hours to dry and can have talcum powder applied when nearly dry to prevent the finish from feeling grippy or generally looking like a wet booger.

Use it in a well ventilated area. It smells like airplane glue and probably isn't the best for your brain. Contains toluene. This product is a must for your junk drawer.
