The Yaktrax Walker is designed for people who are looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight traction device for their shoes. The Walker is the original version of Yaktrax and is ideal for pedestrians, the elderly, business people or anyone who want greater stability on ice and snow. Use the Yaktrax Walker while walking to and from work, school or just to the mailbox. The Walker is made out of an injection molded thermal plastic elastomer designed for easy on and off. The coils are protected against rusting and hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. When you walk in the Yaktrax Walker, every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Yaktrax can be worn in temperatures as low as -41 degrees Fahrenheit. The patented design of the Walker makes it a unique solution to walking on packed snow and ice. The outer band conforms to the length and width of your boot or shoe. The high strength horizontal coils provide forward and backward stability. The vertical coil pattern provide side-to-side stability.

I saw the tracks these make while walking the dog in the woods, as I was carefully inching my way along over the icy ground. I ordered them and now enjoy walking at a normal pace without fear for life and limb. They are simple to put on (don't need to remove my gloves). A terrific product.

I have to say that I am impressed by this product. My wife and I went on a trip to California and Big White Kelowna, Canada with a bunch of college friends in early March. It was our (wife and I) very first time to see snow and walk around in it as well. We purchased our Yaktrax from a sports store while in California and it was $20/pair, well spent (I wish I looked on amazon.com first but we were on our vacation).
The Yaktrax are easy to put on, just slip toe-end in first and pull the heel-end up over the heel. It sits snugly in place over the bottom of your shoe (and they fit on any shoe as our friends with similar shoe sizes tried them as well). I have never walked in snow so I had to try walking around without the Yaktrax first just for the experience. I slid around a bit and had to take smaller steps than normal to walk around. After that short live experience I decided to put the Yaktrax on, and I know this will sound like some cheap info-mercial but, What a difference! I no was no longer sliding around with the exception of on very icy areas. Walking on packed snow was no problem.
My wife and I love them. It was a good thing we had them because a couple of friends next to us walking with us actually fell and slid down the hill about 15 feet (it was kind of funny). We did not experience any problems with it moving out of place. We liked it so much that we convinced some of our friends to purchase them from a shop in the ski village, although theirs cost a bit more. We will definitely use them again on our next winter trip and here's a tip: treat your shoe's with some kind of water proofing or water shedding product, it will help keep your shoes dry.

Excellent product and excellent supplier. These (2) are not the first ones I've bought. Very prompt delivery. I have a very steep, long driveway with my mailbox on the road. Excellent traction when I have to walk on the ice-covered driveway!!!!

If you live in an area where there is snow and ice you NEED to have a pair of these. I bought these for a friend of mine who had fallen on the ice. These are very reassuring when you are walking thiough an area where there is ice. I like the green ones because I go to work in the dark and they are easy to find in the car.

A friend of mine let me borrow a pair of her Yak Trax during the first round of 'Snowmageddon 2009/2010' here in D.C. We walk several miles a day each weekday & those Yak Trax really came in handy. They kept us from slipping on the ice that stuck around for weeks. I bought my own set. I highly recommend this product. They kept us from developing Cabin Fever.
