This probably the best umbrella stand I've seen for use in the grass or dirt.



Pros:

1. The tines are very easy to anchor into even very hard turf by just stepping on the stand.

2. Great for soccer games, picnics, baseball games

3. Can be used with any umbrella.



Cons:

1. It's made of metal and a little heavy.(but it's really sturdy)

2. As another reviewer noted, it's not great for soft sand. You may have to dig a little hole first and then anchor it.

3. I wish there was a cover for the anchor points for when you carry it around. I just put a bag on the end so I don't poke anyone.



Overall it's a great umbrella stand that my family uses every weekend at the kids' games and practices.

The Original Umbrella Stand has served us well so far this summer. I was initially skeptical that the 2-legged approach would prove to be prone to tipping. I can say with complete certainty that I was wrong. Our 2.5-yr old has used the umbrella as a pole to swing around and the stand held fast. We have used the stand around our yard, mostly in the lawn, but some in dirt/other, and it has never failed us.

This works really great! It is very easy to get into the ground since you can use your feet on each side of the stand. That was the real reason I bought it. I could never get my umbrella in the ground easily on its own without my husband's help which was very frustrating since I hate to ask for help! The only problem I had was that my umbrella pole is pretty narrow and the screws were not long enough to secure it in the stand. The screws are also designed so that they cannot be removed so I was not able to just buy longer screws to solve the problem I was able to makeshift a way to keep my umbrella secure by trimming down a foam pool toy that has a hole in the center of it and placing it inside the stand to keep the umbrella snug so it wouldn't move around. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and had an inquiry the first time I used it on where I purchased it.
