Wow! I am currently driving across the US with my Mom in a Camper Van. I needed somewhere to sleep and the
Kamp-Rite Cot is PERFECT!! Please note I am no spring chicken, so for all you "mature" travelers
this is a comfortable and mobile piece of equipment. There are even litte hanging pockets inside that you can
put your flashlight, cell phone, etc. The piece comes with a built in pad, but I added a extra thin foam pad for a tad more padding. Works great. I also recommend ordering the carrying case and rain fly. The Tent Cot also can fold into a chair when you are not slumbering away. Haven't tried the chair mode yet. I did order the bag that hangs underneath and it just didn't seem necessary, so I returned that item. The material is very durable and well made. Great price point. Enjoy!

I saw this Tent Cot in use last year on a fire I was sent to. I purchased mine for use this year. I was sent to a fire for ten days. I slept every night on it. It was wonderful. I was not on the ground and people were envious. If I had to purchase another one I would go with the Delux model.

The Original Tent Cot fits me good. I am 5'11" (181cm) and 165 pounds (75kg) and I have enough room to FEEL comfortable. I can sleep on my side and turn about inside it. When you sit into it or out of it you have to duck. The craftmanship is good, it FEELS secure, sturdy. It can be put up and taken down with ease. It is about a 32" square object when compacted. You need to buy the rainfly, if it is not included with the tent cot for assurance of staying dry. Within the Tent Cot are two pouches that hang from the top that can accomodate a portable audio device, keys, cellular telephone, wallet, ear plugs, handkerchief, and a little more small items. The loops on the zippers are large enough to add small locks. I intend to add an air mattress to feel like I am sleeping on a cloud. Ventilation is excellent. I sleep in it with a sleeping bag and bed pillow on my balcony. My ONLY wish is that it were a little wider. Kamp Rite does make an Oversized Tent Cot as well as a Double.

It is a great tent! You will get a lot of compliments on camp grounds for your tent is unique. It is very comfortable when sleeping (I have the oversize, I think it is only good for one person I would say) and you can even sit down inside. The problems you may encounter... First, is size of the tent. Measure your car trunk or best if you put it on the roof of your car. It consumes a lot of space; I would recommend that you should have at least a pick-up truck or a mini van. Second, it will take an arm and a leg to bend them poles and put it in the holes to make an ark for the roof; especially the first time you use it (I had to ask two people for help, I wasted a lot of energy on it). Lastly..., It rain on and off for 2 days when we went camping.. I'm glad that I had also purchased the rain fly or I will be soaking. Make sure you have a sleeping bag for it really gets damp inside. I Hope this helps!

This tent cot has been great. My husband has been away on fire in Santa Cruz for the past 8 days and is getting good sleep. It is very easy to put up and take down. His back is not hurting him at all. The tent has been great to block the strong winds off the coast at night, then be able to have it vented in the day time. Worth the money spent, very good product.
