This lantern is compact and the triangle shape fits neatly and comfortably into your hand. The batteries at the bottom provide a enough weight at the base to keep the lantern steady. The hook at the top is a little cheesy, and I'm not confident that it will hold up over the long term, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The lamp puts out a decent amount of bright white light, and will easily illuminate a tent. For the price, you're getting a good product.

You get what you pay for. A good little lite, but not able to lite more then a small area. I use it in small cramped areas and it is fine, but don't expect to get a great deal of lite from it though. You will need a larger unit for this.

I use this on my motorcycle camping trips and the size is just what I need. Space is a problem at times. I do wish it was a bit brighter, I have an led flashlight which out shines this. Was shipped on time.

The light isn't blindingly bright, but it is pretty bright considering the tiny size. The lamp seems sturdy enough, and the small size makes it easy to store for emergencies. I could barely see any difference with the rear reflector up or down, so I just leave it down.

These lanterns are great and very affordable. They put out a lot of light. We have bought 4 of these to use during power outages (we've had a lot of snow this year). You can easily read with this lantern and it's perfect to keep by the bed when you need to get up during the night (with no power). The handy carry handle is a nice touch too. We initially bought the one that has high and low, but this one does just fine with it's good bright light. Take my advice, stock up now and you'll be glad to have this handy little gadget when your lights go out!

The cons - it takes 4 d batteries. Buy then at the dollar store and pay about 3.00. The Pro's- sits flat, you can hang it, and it lasts for a long time on those batteries. The difference between the low and bright is noticeable and its nice to have the choice between the 2. Our electric went out for about 4 days this winter and it did a fine job on our dining room table as we played cards when it got dark outside., Used it outside for camping. I am going to purchase another. I see they have a family version, but geeze it takes 8 D batteries so I'll pass on that one.

The weather has been brutal this year in the northeast.
We recently lost power for three days, and these lanterns were a godsend.
They're sturdy, well made, and light up a huge room.
And like similar products, they don't seem to eat up the batteries as much.
We have two, but I definitely plan on ordering a few more.

LOVE this lantern. It's rechargeable (indoors OR via car cigarette lighter) and the best part is that there is a storage compartment on the bottom of the lantern for the power charging cords, so they DON'T GET LOST. Wicked bright, Wicked durable. It is pretty large, so if you're looking for something compact it's not for you. But I HIGHLY recommend it.

I bough this lantern when I was living in Florida and suffered a bunch of power outages. It it light, real bright, and it works great. The batteries last long.
This is a good lantern to have to be able to go around the house, read a little, cook a sandwish... This lantern really fit the bill for an emergency light.
