 "Invaluable tool for handloaders" 2010-03-03

By John Hull (Midwest, America)

Whether you are new to handloading or have 40 years of experience under your belt like I do, the latest Hornady Reloading Manual is a must have, invaluable tool.

It covers the latest cartridges, the latest powders, and the latest ballistic data. Of course, all loads featured use Hornady bullets. That is, after all, their forte. Particularly useful is the section on loading for the M1 Garand semiauto rifle of World War II fame. The Garand is rugged and reliable as rock, but the gas operated action requires that powders and bullet weights be within certain parameters to avoid damage to the rifle or shooter. This information will go a long way to keep those old warhorses functional.

I highly recommend this manual to anyone interested in the shooting sports. It is worth every penny.

"Great source of reloading info and data" 2010-02-10

By Ferd Werffle (Canada)

As per Hornady's usual standards this book is a wealth of knowledge and reasonably up to date reloading data.

My last Hornady manual was a 2 volume set with one volume being ballistics tables. This volume is a single book with no ballistic information. Ballistic information, however, is available on the Hornady web site. This defeats the purpose of buying a printed book but does keep the price down so overall it seems to be a fair trade.

There are a lot of new loads in this book. Some new cartridges can be found here as well.

One draw back to printed manuals is the inability to immediately stay abreast of the latest happenings. Since this book was printed there has been many new powders, bullets and even cartridges that have come out that will not appear in print until the next version comes out.

Drawbacks aside, Hornady provides, in addition to reloading data, excellent information on hand loading metallic cartridges.

Overall a great book and one that deserves to be in the library of all reloaders.

 "It's a bottle" 2010-05-13

By John Dunnahoe

I'm no expert on water bottles so I'm not sure what I should be looking for in this thing. It holds water and it's easy to drink out of. That's about all I expect out of them. Also, the picture on Amazon shows a blue bottle for the Smoke/White color scheme. I got the right color bottle but the picture is wrong.

"I have finally found the perfect water bottle" 2010-05-01

By Jordan (Fort Lee, NJ United States)

I am not often moved to write reviews for products, but I feel such a deep love and appreciation for the Camelbak Podium (24 oz) water bottle that I just can't keep quiet! First, let me say that I don't use this bottle for biking because I don't bike. Instead, I use this bottle as my general drinking-water-all-day bottle as well as my whitewater kayaking bottle.

There are several features of this bottle that make me love it so. First, the locking valve is a delight -- both when I'm chucking it in a backpack and don't want to worry about it leaking, and when I have it in my kayak and don't want to worry about the river water, pristine though it may be, getting in. Second, when the locking valve is unlocked, the water still doesn't come out on its own; You can tip the bottle upside down with nary a drop escaping. Third, when you drink from it, the flow is AMAZING. You'll note that I capitalized all the letters in "amazing" because it's just that good. This is much better than any bite valve on any hydration system I have yet experienced. As fast and hard as you suck, the Podium will keep up with spurt after spurt of that liquid of life: water.

And it's quite handsome as well. I recommend it.

"Yes, this is a better bottle and worth the $" 2010-04-12

By Just a guy (Westchester, NY)

This is a better bottle than the standard bottles for two reasons. First, the nipple actually works. There is a rotating selector that can completely block the bottle so it can't possibly leak in your bag or back seat. When the selector is set to open, the bottle still requires either a squeeze or a suck to get the fluid out. There was no dripping from a full bottle going over road bumps. The system works remarkably well.

Also, the bottle itself has small "fins" just below the top section of the 24oz bottle. These are a GREAT addition to really give you a secure grip when drinking while riding.

Finally, the bottle is just a tiny bit shorter than some of my other 24oz bottles that just BARELY fit on my seatpost. This one fits with a half inch to spare. I ride a 50cm frame, so this probably isn't a problem for larger frames.

Yes, you can buy bottles for half this price, but this one is really worth it. As proof, I originally ordered one bottle, and just ordered another.

"Wow, has this air pump come in handy! Didn't realize how much I needed one...." 2010-01-12

By Bmommy (Midwest, USA)

Had no idea how much we needed an air pump like this till we actually had one to use! We have used this for the kids jump-o-lene 71.5" x 40" Jump o Lene Jump n Gym, for rafts and other pool toys, for inflatable mattresses when company visits. Never had one before, and we purchased it specifically for the Jump n Gym, but once we had it, we were shocked at how many times it came in handy!

What's great about it is that it has several different sized nozzles, so you can use it for so many things! Oh, and the fact that you can also use it to deflate stuff really makes life a lot easier! It's super-fast, and I can't believe we went so long without it. Now that I've gotten used to just grabbing the pump when we need something inflated or deflated, I can't imagine not having one.

We highly recommend this air pump. It has been reliable, durable, and very very convenient. By the way, it's not heavy and doesn't take up much space, so you can easily take it with you if you need to. Super-duper recommend it! ;)

"Effective for the job that it is intended" 2010-01-05

By scarr5000 (Los Angeles)

I purchased this pump in order to fill a Jumpolene Castle that I got my son for Christmas. I researched thoroughly the reviews for like products, eschewing some of the lesser expensive models due to a preponderance of negative reviews, and going for this pump, which was still priced very attractively and eligible for Prime shipping. And, after promptly filling the many inflatable sections of the Jumpolene in about 10 minutes (as well as refills over the last week), I am very pleased. Yes, it is a tad loud, but not appreciably worse than that of a vacuum cleaner. Included in the box are four nozzles of various sizes that I would imagine would fit just about anything that this pump is suitable for inflating. Do keep in mind, however, that this pump would not have the power or ability to inflate tires (car or bicycle), but for what it is built for (inflating air mattresses, jumpolenes and other inflatable bouncers, beach balls, etc.), it does the trick and does it well.

"Excellent value for the price" 2009-11-11

By Peter Ungar (New Rochelle NY United States)

A well designed product for blowing up air mattresses, baby pools and such. This type of pump produces high volume at low pressure; for pumping tires a different type of pump is needed. The noise level is 85 db at 2 ft, noisier than a vacuum cleaner (about 75 db) tolerable for short periods but one might as well use earplugs if one has them.

 "Extremely Comfortable!" 2010-04-10

By terrance (Yorktown, VA)

I have been wearing Calvin Klein boxer briefs for quite some time and although comfortable, decided it was time to try something different. Looking at numerous brands wherever I could, I accidentally stumbled on this brand and the ExOfficio company surfing Amazon. So after doing a little research and reading some very strong positive reviews, I decided to try a couple pair and see for myself. They are honestly the most comfortable pair on boxers I have ever worn. They are very lightweight and yet very supportive at the same time. Although they are a little more expensive than the "average" pair of briefs, I certainly think they are worth the extra cost. I highly recommend these and can't wait to try other types of products from this company!

 "best undergarment for travel" 2010-03-14

By goaliemom (Pittsburgh, PA)

This item was purchased for my son who was traveling to another country. He thanked me so much upon his return. He was with a group that was camping for several weeks and said this boxer brief was the most comfortable to wear, the most convenient to launder and quickest to dry. I then purchased one for another son who travels; he agrees. Considering their positive comments of this product, I would say this is by far the best undergarment you could purchase for travelers. They are wearing them on a daily basis now as well - one to wear, one to launder.

"More versatile, but does not grip to the underlying mat as well as Yogitoes Towel" 2010-04-05

By l. li (CHICAGO, IL, US)

I own both a Manduka towel and the Yogitoes towel and here's what I wish I would have known: The Manduka feels softer than the Yogitoes, and certainly is more versatile, since it can be used as a regular towel or even a blanket. They both feel pretty stable (can't avoid all slipping of the hands in down dog) when wet, but the major difference is that the Maduka has a tendency to bunch up more than the Yogitoes on my yoga mat during practice. The nubs on the Yogitoes do help a lot to grip the towel on the yoga mat to prevent slippage while you're jumping up to the top of the mat or performing a lunge. Caveat: I have a Gaiam yoga mat, so I'm not certain if the Manduka towel works better with the Manduka yoga mats. I have the pink Manduka - it's quite lovely and I haven't experienced any bleeding in the wash (unlike my purple Yogitoes!). But the bunching issue is really annoying, and for this reason alone, if I need another yoga towel, I would go with another Yogitoes.

 "dome tent" 2010-03-21

As a scoutmaster and avid camper, I think this is a very good tent for the money.

If you camp every week or month, spend a little more money. But for occasional use it will do fine.

$300 tents leak,I know, I have one. If you are camping in the rain, you will get wet.If you can't take the elements, use an RV or stay home. I highly recommend this tent for entry level camping.

"great tent at great price." 2010-02-16

By Daniel Sherlock (hawaii)

I did my research and found this tent would fit my needs perfectly. i was going to take my 2 daughters camping and needed some room for them and their junk. Tent came super fast and box wasnt as big as i thought it would be. Perfect because i have to carry everything myself.

I didnt get a chance to pre-assemble it because i live in an apartment and its way to big to set up in my living room. I read the instructions and it seemed pretty simple. When it came time to put it up, i was going to have only my 8yr old help me out !

Day of camping I first put a tarp under the tent just in case of leaks or rain. Tent was a breeze setting up. Daughter only had to help hold the 2 poles while i attached them at the bottom clips. Only took about 40 minutes to get it up,and that was taking my time so I could let my daughter "help".

The tent was pretty roomy. Came with super zippers that can open/close the doors halfway, partway, sideways, upside-down!! really kewl. It also came with little pouches to put your needed stuff in easy to find spots. there was even a storage at the top of the tent for hmm my bread!! great so it didnt get smashed.

Size of the inside was big enough for a queen sized inflatable bed and a twin sized futon (i wanted something soft to sleep on!)> Tons of room for all the gear along the sides.

It didnt rain so I didnt get to see if it was watertight. I bought the seam sealers but didnt use them because i didnt have time to air it out afterwards. But it seemed pretty well made.

Only negatives i found were the outside "flap/cover/thingy" sits a bit too snug against the roof so there wasnt that much ventilation and the door started a few inches above the ground so u have to be careful not to trip on it coming in or out. And in the morning, the dew got the insides near the bottom wet so dont put your stuff too close to the sides. I had no clue it would be soo cold!! Guess even in Hawaii its cold in the mornings! Ooo, forgot to add, id replace the tent spikes because the thin metal ones didnt really hold in the ground that well. I bought some cheap ones made out of plastic at walmart for few bucks.

Taking the tent down was a super breeze, and it even fit back in the original zipper bag with no problems. I even got it back in the original box!!

overall: awesome tent!! it was perfect and my daughters loved it! Ill have to take them camping again!!

 "Buy Real Tent Stakes!" 2009-11-09

By C. Fenley (Newark, DE United States)

My wife and I just got back from a trip with this tent and it worked great. It did not rain, but it was very windy the first night (gusting up to 25 mph). We did not use the rain-fly rods because the side windows do not have a zipper-flap to 'close' them. So, we just allowed the rain-fly to seal the windows, which it did quite nicely. Temperatures were in the mid 20s minus wind-chill, but we were comfortable in the tent. I don't know how this tent would've held up if we'd had a driving rain along with the wind, but frankly, we wouldn't have stayed in those conditions with ANY tent. This tent could sleep four adults elbow-to-elbow, but we had two twin airbeds to either side (for us) and two large dog beds between the beds. There was still plenty of room for boots, leashes and such at the foot of our beds, and I had a regular sized backpack, heavy jacket, and clothes at the head-end of my airbed.

Finally, I absolutely recommend getting real tent stakes, even those plastic yellow stakes. The little metal stakes that come with this tent are going to be useless at a lot of camp sites.
